    The Deep Sea Cyprus

    Cyprus is the Lead for the Appalachian Mermaid Society. They are a motivated and experienced performer that is always ready to bring joy and magic to their performances. Their experience includes tank performance, land performance, and various resorts in Ocean City MD.

    Cyprus is an insured performer thru Specialty Performer insurance, with various certifications including: PADI Advanced Mermaid, Basic Free diver, CPR, ACLS, ENCP, DAN diver insurance, and is a registered emergency healthcare professional.

    Mermaid "Eureka"

    Eureka is the Co-Lead for the Appalachian Mermaid Society. With 2 years of experience as a professional Mermaid. Eureka has made a name for herself in the West Virginia Community. With a bright positive attitude she is guaranteed to bring smile to everyone who meets her. With a variety of experience in fundraisers, community events, and charity events she has a plethora of skills to share.

    Eureka is an insured performer, with a collection of certifications including: PADI Advanced Open Water, Advanced Mermaid, DAN O2, Nitrox, Free Diver. In her past life she was a Med-Surg Nurse and has her certifications in CPR, ACLS, and BLS.

    Mermaid "Sariel"

    Sariel is a mistress of whit and the Human-Fish Relations for the Appalachian Mermaid Society. This whimsical Mermaid hails from Pittsburgh, and brings her unique personality to all her events. As a mermaid that has danced with the Fae, her movement in the water is as smooth and mythical as Faerie wings. Sariel is Advanced PADI mermaid certified, and working towards her First Aid and CPR.

    Sariel is an insured performers thru Specialty Insurance and would to share her magic with you.

    Mermaid "Starling"

    Starling is the Event Coordinator and a member of Admin for the Appalachian Mermaid Society. She swam up to shore 10 years ago making her home away from home at The Long Island Aquarium where she dazzles guests. She has been a Princess performer for just as long as she has been a mermaid, helping bring classic story book characters to life.

    Starling strives to create an environment where young children and those who are young at heart can feel unashamed about letting magic into their lives. Making sure every single person she meets feel special and appreciated for who they are. In her endeavors to help make the world a better place she got her Red Cross LG certificate and teaches swim lessons. In a world of love and celebration anything is possible!

    Merfolk "Nettles"

    Merfolk Nettles became a member of the Appalachian Mermaid Society in 2024 and is a PADI certified Mermaid Instructor, Freediver, and Rescue Diver. They were born and raised in the Great Black Swamp and love educating others about the importance of wildlife and wild spaces as a NAI Certified Interpretive Guide.

    As part of a military family, Nettles has primarily worked in the field of animal care, but is somewhat of a “Mer of All Trades” as they move around the country (and even overseas) every few years.

    Nettles enjoys experimenting with makeup and costuming, creating new “lurks” to try to expand the definition of what it is to be a merperson. They have been an avid member of the LARP and tabletop RPG scene for over a decade, recently running games with an aquatic flare. Nettles hopes to inspire adults to embrace the same imaginative play they had as children.

    Mermaid "Diamond Sparkles"

    Mermaid Diamond Sparkles, our Celtic Mermaid is a PADI advanced mermaid, trained also in both CPR and First Aid, hailing from the state of Delaware. Not only is she an author of her own children books, but she also is a full time special education teacher working with students with autism and severe disabilities, has a strong background in theatre and performing arts, and performs aerial circus arts.

    Diamond Sparkles lives through being a voice for the voiceless and a symbol of how music connects and transforms the soul. Whether she’s teaching, performing, or spreading joy through her enchanting Irish music and culture, Diamond Sparkles makes a meaningful impact on everyone she encounters

    Mermaid "Melodia"

    A brand new mermaid, from the bioluminescent waters of the Caribbean, with a song in her heart, Mermaid Melodia is excited to meet you!


    As a full time Educator, she has served Elementary students for over 6 years. She also has over 11 years of performing experience for charity. Melodía adores human fashions, making art, and painting. She is also passionate about celebrating differences and embracing what makes us unique. Melodía is making her debut with us in 2025!

    Melodía is a PADI certified Mermaid, who is fluent in Spanish and English. She is working towards her PADI Advanced Mermaid certification.

    Merman "Aros"

    Aros is a member of the Appalachian Mermaid Society and one of our founding members. This merman hails from New Jersey with several years of varying merman experience. This pirate turned merman has worked at the Long Island Aquarium, various events on Long Island, and charity events. His skills continue to grow and this hardworking Mer has been making large strides toward tank performance. Aros is an insured performer thru Specialty Insurance and holds his PADI Mermaid certification.

    Mermaid "Ayanna"

    Our Bonaire Mermaid hails from the Caribbean. Ayanna hopes to make new friends wherever she goes. She is passionate about the ocean and conservation, and loves sharing stories about her adventures. She cannot wait to meet you and share some joy and mermaid magic!

    Mermaid "Tasha"

    Meet Mermaid Tasha! Based out of Ocean City MD, Tasha is many things combine into a magical package. She is an author of her own children’s books, a PADI mermaid instructor, and passionate about conservation in the OCMD area.
